What does the LightwaveRF radiator valve do?
The LightwaveRF radiator valve, is a self-regulating valve that allows you to control the temperature of a room by regulating the flow of hot water to the radiator. It can be used independently but greatly benefits by being used in conjunction with other products within the LightwaveRF range.
The radiator valve is thermostatic, meaning it features an internal temperature sensor, which will open and close the valve, depending on the desired set mode. The present modes included consist of running, standby and away mode. These modes change the target temperature between three default settings.
When used with the LightwaveRF Link (A23RX), you get the ability to manually adjust multiple radiator valves via the LightwaveRF app. This allows you to customise the default temperatures for the different modes and implement custom schedules. The app, available for free, allows you to access and control your system from multiple devices simultaneously. Compatible with any iOS 5.0 device or higher including iPhones, iPods and iPads, Android devices running 4.0 and higher. Control your smart heating over Wi-Fi as well as 3G/4G.
The LightwaveRF Link also allows you to link the radiator valve with other LightwaveRF products. This could include setting up with the LightwaveRF boiler switch (N79QJ), or even setting up a LightwaveRF magnetic switch (N71LL) on a window to automatically place the radiator in the room onto away mode when a window is opened.
Will the LightwaveRF radiator valve work with my existing radiator?
The LightwaveRF radiator valve TRV (thermostatic radiator valve) head fits to the majority of existing thermostatic valves, with two optional collar types that can be interchanged to suit different radiator designs.
How do I install the device?
The LightwaveRF simply requires removing the existing valve head, inserting the LightwaveRF radiator valve’s batteries, and screwing it into place. Removing the existing valve head should not hold any risk of a water leak and does not require you to drain the system. Once installed the radiator valve will automatically configure itself within a few minutes. If you desire a more advanced setup with the LightwaveRF Link, each radiator valve features a ‘link’ button allowing quick and simple integration into your LightwaveRF home automation system.
